In what could have been mistaken for a Saturday Night Live skit, US Rep. Adam Schiff (D-CA), described the trove of damning emails and photographs found on a laptop purported to be Hunter Biden’s as part of a smear coming “from the Kremlin.”
Schiff, the chairman of the House Intelligence Committee, told CNN, “We know that this whole smear on Joe Biden comes from the Kremlin…That’s been clear for well over a year now that they’ve been pushing this false narrative about this vice president and his son.”
Schiff chaired the House Intelligence Committee through a wholly partisan exercise that led to the House voting to impeach the President in 2019. Part of the narrative that was eventually rebuked by a trial in the US Senate was that then-candidate Trump colluded with the Russians to win the 2016 General Election.
Recent information declassified by the President and emanating from the FBI and CIA, revealed that the Russian collusion narrative was a political stunt crafted and executed by the Hillary Clinton campaign to deflect from an investigation into her illegal handling of classified documents and emails while US Secretary of State.

Schiff’s attempt to provide a deflection campaign for the Bidens centers on emails that revealed Hunter Biden had indeed introduced his then-Vice President father to a top executive at Ukrainian oil company in 2015.
A deeper examination into the trove of information also revealed an outline for a lucrative payout to Biden as part of a deal with a Chinese energy firm. One of the people copied on the email about the Chinese energy firm has confirmed its authenticity.
In May, The Wall Street Journal accused Schiff of spreading “falsehoods shamelessly about Russia and Donald Trump for three years even as his own committee gathered contrary evidence.”
Nevertheless, and as if to defy fact, Schiff said, “I think we know who the driving force behind this smear has been all along, it’s been the president and the Kremlin,” calling the President, “the gift that doesn’t stop giving” for Moscow.
