A super PAC tied to never-Trump Republican and failed presidential candidate Mitt Romney is spending big money in New York’s 23rd Congressional District in an effort to defeat America First candidate Carl Paladino. In his GOP Primary contest, Paladino is standing against Nick Langworthy, the chairman of New York State’s Republican Party.
The Romney-tied American Liberty Action PAC has spent $344,354 dollars opposing America First candidate Carl Paladino, campaign finance records show. Additionally, the PAC has spent $9,400 supporting Langworthy. Those figures resemble other races that the Romney-aligned PAC has involved itself in across the country, spending more than $2 million trying to defeat conservative Republicans.
Utah Senator Romney, who demonstrated with Black Lives Matter leftists in 2020 and voted with Senate Democrats to convict President Trump of phony impeachment charges, is closely linked to the PAC through its treasurer, Charles Gantt. Gantt worked as the failed Romney presidential campaign’s senior financial analyst in 2012, joining Red Curve Solutions as its Senior Vice President shortly thereafter.
During the 2012 campaign, Romney funneled over a million dollars to Red Curve and continues to be a major cash source for the firm to this day. According to Red Curve’s website, the firm offers various financial services to campaigns, candidates, and, of course, PACs.
In addition to their closeness to Mitt Romney, Red Curve publicly brags about their work with a number of establishment types on their website, including outgoing Massachusetts Governor Charlie Baker. Baker is a vocally anti-Trump Republican who worked with Democrats to enact Draconian COVID lockdowns and vaccine mandates. He has been widely rebuked by the grassroots wing of the party and even Trump himself and isn’t seeking re-election.

Six-term ex-Connecticut Congressman Christopher Shays also appears on Red Curve’s website, offering a rave review of their services. In 2021, Shays wrote an op-ed that was picked up by liberal media and compared President Trump to Adolf Hitler, while celebrating the installation of Joe Biden as President.
“We have a new president deserving of our support,” Shays wrote, dubbing the 2020 Election a glowing example of “democracy in action.”
Deepening Gantt and Red Curve’s establishment ties even further, in 2019 and 2020, the RNC paid over $1.3 million to Red Curve, classifying the seven-figure cash infusion as a “rent” payment in financial disclosure documents.
Romney associate Charles Gantt has used his Red Curve network to try and take down America First candidates nationwide this election cycle, using PACs to fund campaigns against Trump-endorsed Joe Kent in Washington State and Anthony Sabatini in Florida. He also served as treasurer of the Principled Leadership for Michigan PAC, trying to rescue disgraced impeachment voter Peter Meijer, who was crushed by Trump-endorsed candidate John Gibbs in their GOP Primary.
The top donor to the Michigan PAC was Peter Meijer’s father and it was almost exclusively funded by the uber-rich Meijer family, the founders of Meijer Grocery.

The anti-MAGA blitz from Romney associate Charles Gantt and his affiliated PACs has culminated in New York’s 23rd District with massive expenditures in favor of Nick Langworthy. Langworthy has been endorsed by a number of GOP establishment figures within New York’s liberal statewide party, of which he serves as chairman.
Just recently, he was also endorsed by the New York Post’s editorial board, which claimed that voting for conservative candidate Carl Paladino would be “immoral” and send an “ugly message” to liberal-leaning voters. In New York City’s recent mayoral election, The Post endorsed Democrat Eric Adams, who is now stuffing luxury hotels full of illegal aliens at the expense of taxpayers while crime in the city continues to skyrocket and horrify the nation.
Carl Paladino, an outspoken supporter of President Trump and the America First movement, is expected to be a key ally to the 45th President and MAGA grassroots in Congress. Boasting a lead over Langworthy heading into Tuesday’s primary, Paladino blasted his opponent’s establishment backing and liberal media endorsements in a recent post made to Twitter.
“My opponent is the New York City Post and Buffalo News approved candidate,” Paladino wrote. “Both media outlets have smeared President Trump and America First Patriots. I’m glad they hate me, it means that I’m standing up for you.”
