A Portland rioter who detonated an improvised explosive device at a the federal courthouse in Portland that remains the center of civil unrest was identified by Internet researchers who found a post where the suspect’s grandmother left a review of his riot gear, including pictures of the young man using the apparel.
Gabriel Agard-Berryhill, 18, was identified after Internet sleuths found his Trump-supporting grandmother’s review online. He appeared in court on Friday after his grandmother Karla Fox, 69, claimed that Agard-Berryhill was her grandson. The rioter reportedly attended protests outside the federal courthouse in downtown Portland every night, according to his grandmother’s review.
In a tweet, reported on by The Daily Mail, Fox wrote: “This is my only grandson, I love him to death, and didn’t know he was going to do such a bad thing, I had been posting several things about the antifa and BLM, he knows I am against those riots bigtime…he chose his poison.”
The young rioter was identified by internet sleuths who connected his picture wearing the vest that read “ICONS” on a product review left by his grandmother, to a video where he threw an IED that landed in the portico of the Portland courthouse and going off near plywood attached to the building’s facade.
The explosion lit a small fire in front of the building. Police reported that the concussion could be heard and felt more than a block away.

The man’s grandmother said the following on the riot gear she had acquired for her son, under the title ‘Fast shipping, Great Vest,’ leaving a five star review: “I got this for my grandson who’s a protestor downtown, he uses it every night and says its does the job.”
Another internet sleuth also discovered that the vest was not a plate holder but a fashion device, lending credence to many internet criticisms over LARPers taking over political activism.

A video of the rioter throwing what has been dubbed “an improvised explosive device” also circulated social media beneath the review that gave away his identity as he committed a federal crime. In the video, the suspect can be seen cheering as the explosive device detonates.
The Daily Mail reported that the explosive device went off at the Hatfield Federal Courthouse a little before midnight.
The young revolutionary was also caught on camera shielding the infamous naked women, whose sitting astride captured international headlines as riot police hesitated. The naked Portlander has become something of a symbol for resistance in recent days as her rear profile was beamed across several posts and publications.
Twitter users erupted with laughter at the prospect of being given away by an innocuous review on a delivery site left by their grandmother. Many commenters left memes and tweets expressing the hilarity of the situation.
In a further bizarre twist, the New York Post revealed that Agard-Berryhill’s grandmother was an avid Donald Trump supporter.
4Channers also reportedly nicknamed the rioter “Simpothy McVeigh”–a portmanteau for “Simp” and Oklahoma City bomber Timothy McVeigh–while others rechristened him “beta blocker” for his white knighting for the naked protester.
President Trump has publicly condemned the violence in the Oregon city that has raged on unabated for over two months.
