An amusing revelation was made following a 4chan troll posting the suggestion to trick young women into supporting Black Lives Matter–by shaving their heads.
As a result, the hashtag #goBaldForBLM emerged, with several young women expressing their solidarity with the global political movement, taking social media by storm.
In an anonymous 4chan post, the original poster wrote: “Get #goBadlforBLM trending on Twitter and Instagram. The idea is to get women, particularly white women, to shave their heads for BLM. Guilt them into getting rid of their straight “white” hair to show”solidarity” with black women.”

To comedic effect, the troll appears to have paid off, becoming another one of many plans hatched on the controversial online message board to influence people into false movements.
One person wrote: “Today, I showed my solidarity for #blacklivesmatter by shaving my head in protest. #gobaldforblm. I feel amazing.”

Another participant wrote: “So I was going to shave my head again soon anyway but since #goBaldForBLM was trending I thought NOW IS THE TIME! I can get behind this! I stand in Solidarity with #BlackLivesMatter and am free of my privileged hair.”

The hashtag began trending on Twitter, but many soon caught onto the hoax as some troll Twitter accounts posted fake images of women shaving their heads.
In April, after Bernie Sanders dropped out of the Presidential race, 4channers spammed Bernie Bros by hatching a fake scheme where they would take to social media to falsely thank the Vermont Senator for returning their campaign donations.
The idea of this troll was to have staunch Sanders supporters think that refunds were underway, when, in fact, there was no scheme in place.

The hacker known as 4chan has struck again: this time they were scheming a plan to troll Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) supporters into believing other Bernie Bros had received refunds, in an effort to cause an internet frenzy.
The general gist of the idea was to stoke confusion as many devout Sanders followers forked out the precious little that they had to back their loved Vermont democratic socialist.
Following the announcement Sanders was to suspend his presidential campaign, scores of disheartened Brocialists flooded social media with their tears as a second Democratic betrayal seemed to be on the cards.
4chan, as exploitative of big news as ever, hatched a plan to create hundreds of sock accounts to push a narrative–and algorithms–of supposedly content Bernie Bros who had been given refunds after dipping into their savings or deepening their student loans to throw some cash at the Vermont Senator.
According to the ever-insightful Anon, the plan was straightforward:
Simply, we flood Twitter with sock accounts thanking Bernie for returning our money.
Watch the panic ensue as the basedboys spam him for refunds
Twitter caught wind of the situation and advised authentic Sanders supporters to heed caution.
As ever, 4Chan is often quick to the punch in causing mischief over breaking political events.
