The discovery of the preserved stash of over 2,000 aborted babies bodies at the residence of Dr Ulrich “Gerorge” Klopfer is just another in a series of sketchy circumstances surrounding abortion clinics of the United States.
On behalf of Whole Woman’s Health Alliance Amy Hagstrom Miller reported in a statement to VOX, “What happens in South Bend is a microcosm for what’s happening statewide and what’s happening nationally.”
These court rulings as well as the statements made by Hagstrom have serious national implications as the Presidential Campaign of Mayor Pete Buttigieg of South Bend, Indiana. Buttigieg has very little to say on the the presence of these unlicensed abortion clinics in his own town.
While Whole Woman’s Health Alliance kept getting their appeals for licensing denied, A group called Women’s Care Center applied for an exception to South Bend zoning rules to open a facility next door to the WWHA center.
The rezoning of that area would prove to be necessary for the WCC because that zone was previously designated a for residential use only.
Buttigieg openly voted against a zoning change that would have allowed the operation of pregnancy resource centers in the same proximity of these unlicensed abortion clinics. Despite the fact that the South Bend Common Council ruled in favor of WCC and would have allowed permissions to rezone, Buttigeg vetoed their ruling.
“I don’t think it would be responsible to situate two groups, literally right next to each other, in a neighborhood, that have diametrically opposed views on the most divisive social issue of our time,” Buttigieg told the South Bend Tribune when the zoning change was denied.
The denial of the zoning change effectively eliminates any meaningful option for an expecting mother to have as opposed to these unlicensed facilities who profit from the sale of fetal body parts.
“For him to put a barrier in place for an organization that works to help women in need was really disappointing,” Jackie Appleman, executive director of St. Joseph County Right to Life, a local anti-abortion group, told Vox.
“These questions ought to be resolved by women in consultation with their doctors, not by the intervention of male politicians putting politically motivated restrictions on women’s health care,” Buttigeig said.
Hagstrom’s implications of South Bend’s abortion practices extending nation wide implicate the possibility of the existence of numerous other preserved body collections in the homes of abortion doctors nation wide.
