Tim Gionet, known online as Baked Alaska, was arrested today for the alleged actions he took while participating in the mostly peaceful Capitol Hill protest on January 6.
Gionet, who has become an ardent Trump supporter since originally supporting Bernie Sanders in 2016, and who appeared at virtually every Stop The Steal event, was arrested today for his alleged participation in the January 6 Capitol Hill protest, continuously called a riot by those in the mainstream media.
According to the Associated Press, Gionet “was arrested by federal agents in Houston on Saturday, according to the official, who was not authorized to discuss the matter before the public release of a criminal complaint and spoke on condition of anonymity.”
They add, “Gionet faces charges of violent and disorderly conduct on Capitol grounds and knowingly entering a restricted building without lawful authority, according to the U.S. Department of Justice.”
Gionet has risen to extreme popularity in right wing Internet circles for his series of in-real-life live streams that feature him confronting pro-lockdown, pro-mask individuals in cities across the United States.
Gionet first rose to prominence as a sketch comedian, and was hired by Buzzfeed. He eventually left Buzzfeed and became an ardent supporter of President Donald Trump, at one point traveling alongside Milo Yiannopoulos on his bus tour.
Most recently, Gionet has appeared at various Stop The Steal events, where he was almost always heard shouting “America First” while live streaming near the front of the crowd.
National File previously interviewed Gionet after critics tried to cancel him for his anti-mask confrontations.
