45th President Trump blasted Democrat Don Davis as a “radical left puppet of Joe Biden and Nancy Pelosi” in his endorsement of Republican nominee Sandy Smith for Congress in North Carolina’s 1st District. Looking to flip the battleground seat from blue to red, Sandy Smith is surging against Davis, the hand-picked successor of the district’s outgoing, career Democrat Representative.
President Trump first announced his endorsement of America First candidate Sandy Smith from the rally stage in Wilmington, NC on Friday night. On Tuesday, he released a written endorsement of Smith, expounding on his support of her campaign and blasting “radical left puppet” Don Davis for his open borders, pro-crime record.
“Sandy Smith will be a fantastic Representative from the Great State of North Carolina,” President Trump wrote in his endorsement, touting her record as a business owner and patriotic military mom who is ready to defend America’s borders and the 2nd Amendment in DC.
“A successful business owner and proud military mother, Sandy will strengthen our Military, Fight for our Vets, Promote School Choice, Defend our under siege Second Amendment, and support our Country’s Great Farmers and Manufacturers,” wrote President Trump. “Importantly, she knows what to do against ever-spiraling inflation – and she will do it.”
“Her opponenet, Don Davis, is a Radical Left puppet of Joe Biden and Nancy Pelosi,” Trump went on, slamming Davis’s extremist record and agenda as “a disaster for North Carolina.”
“He believes in Open and Unchecked Borders, and doesn’t mind the fact that others Countries are dumping their prisoners into the United States of America. Davis refuses to fight the Out-Of-Control Crime in our Cities, and strongly believes in Defunding Our Police. He voted against the Parents’ Bill of Rights Act and is against, believe it or not, Voter ID. Don Davis is a disaster for North Carolina and all that its Great People stand for,” Trump wrote in his endorsement of Smith.
Sandy Smith, on the other hand, will be a tremendous and proud Representative of the 1st Congressional District. She will never let you down and, for that reason, Sandy Smith has my Complete and Total endorsement!”

As President Trump mentioned in his endorsement of Sandy Smith, and as National File has previously reported, Democrat nominee Don Davis voted against protecting Americans from violent criminal illegal aliens, supporting the creation of sanctuary cities in North Carolina. In his role as a state legislator, Davis voted against mandating that local sheriffs enforce the law and cooperate with ICE to turn over convicted criminal illegal aliens in their custody.
In absence of the legislation, left-wing sheriffs are free to turn illegal aliens loose as they see fit, so that they can continue their bloody campaigns of crime on American streets. In 2019, a whopping 419 violent, criminally-convicted illegal aliens were sprung from North Carolina jails by left-wing sheriffs and put back on American streets, rather than turn them over to ICE.
North Carolina: Don Davis Voted Against Protecting Americans From Violent Illegal Aliens
A fanatical supporter of the left’s anti-family agenda, Don Davis declared in a local news interview that, if elected to Congress, he will vote to codify taxpayer-funded abortion on demand up to the moment of birth. Recently, in the state legislature, he he publicly opposed and voted against North Carolina’s parental bill of rights, meant to block schools from teaching far-left gender and sexuality studies to children in grades K-3.
Outgoing longtime Democrat Rep. GK Butterfield, who publicly touts Davis as his chosen successor, says that the latter can be fully trusted to carry out the Biden-Pelosi “democratic agenda.”
