Interestingly President Trump fares much better against Joe Biden and Kamala Harris than Ron DeSantis. In a potential 2024 General Election match, DeSantis leads Biden by 1 point and Harris by 2 points.
President Trump has enjoyed generally favorable polling in early 2023. A Missouri GOP Primary poll released last week showed Trump leading the field by similar margins to the Harvard/CAPS Harris poll.
To date, President Trump and Nikki Haley are the only candidates who have officially stated that they are running for president. However, despite President Trump’s commanding lead in the Republican Primary polls, more Republicans are expected to join the race in the coming months.
