The unhinged Virginia leftist caught on video threatening a GOP poll greeter in an anti-Christian tirade appears to be the same man who disrupted President Trump’s speech during a National Anthem celebration at the White House 2018, according to photographs posted online after video footage of Tuesday’s incident went viral.
An Arlington, Virginia man tore into a GOP poll greeter during Virginia’s 2023 elections on Tuesday, launching an anti-Christian tirade that included a veiled threat and ended with the leftist hopping his Prius hybrid and driving away, after also targeting a fellow voter with his political meltdown.
After video footage of the incident, which was reported on the same day by National File, went viral online, web sleuths identified the unnamed man as the same leftist who disrupted a speech from President Trump in 2018, at a White House celebration to commemorate America’s National Anthem.
Photographs posted of the 2018 incident online show a strong resemblance between the man caught on video on Tuesday and the man from Trump’s speech.
“The same Democrat voter who belligerently approached and threatened Republican poll greeter [Matthew Hurtt] in Arlington, VA today is the same man who interrupted President Trump during a National Anthem celebration at the White House on June 5th, 2018, where he yelled ‘stop hiding behind the national anthem’,” @joma_gc posted to X on Tuesday afternoon, including photographs of the 2018 incident.
UPDATE: The unhinged leftist has been identified as 54-year-old Brendan Anthony Martin, a federal contractor with Health and Human Services who administers the foster care system.Â

As National File reported on Tuesday, video footage of the man’s meltdown “was recorded by Arlington County, Virginia GOP Chairman Matthew Hurtt, who was serving as a GOP poll greeter outside of a local voting precinct.”
In the video, Hurtt is handing out sample ballots when a bespectacled leftist, apparently very disturbed by the presence of a Republican at an election facility, jumped up in his face to go on a stuttering anti-Christian rant that included a thinly veiled threat and centered around the hysterical version of J6 events spoonfed to the man by corporate media.
“You, you uh, you f*cking people tried to overthrow the election,” the leftist said as he sauntered up to Hurtt. “You might have been – you might as well have been walking up to my head on the way to the polling station, putting a gun to my head, trying to tell me not to vote,” he went on. “And you expect me not to take that f*cking personally?”
“Thanks for coming out today,” Hurtt responded, as the leftist became visibly irritated, his skin flushing out to a shade of red as he clutched what appeared to be a Democrat sample ballot and pivoted his rant toward abortion and homosexuality.
“Involving yourselves in people’s f*cking families!?” the leftist exclaimed. “In their f*cking bedrooms! You f*cking animal!”
While for a fleeting second, it appeared that the leftist’s rant was over and he began to walk away, he quickly spun around, pointed his finger at the poll worker, and declared that if “you try to steal my vote next year, I’m gonna f*cking remember you personally,” before pulling out his phone to take pictures of Hurtt, and hurling out more profanity-laden insults.
After walking away once more, the leftist returned again to start antagonizing another voter and warning him not to “be buddy-buddy” with Republicans.
“They’re f*cking Bible-beating bigots and freaks,” he said, before walking away and climbing into a Prius to drive off.

Matthew Hurtt, the GOP poll greeter and Arlington County party chief who recorded the video footage, spoke with National File on Tuesday, remarking that “It’s clear Arlington liberals are upset about Republicans greeting voters at local polling locations.”
“As Chairman of the Arlington GOP,” Hurtt went on, “I am committed to making Republicans electable in Arlington by showing up, recruiting good candidates, and making the case for our conservative principles. I expect to see a lot more wailing and gnashing of teeth from Arlington liberals as we continue to gain ground in Arlington.”
Hurtt also told National File that the unhinged leftist he caught on video had actually started in on him minutes prior, as he walked into the polling station. So as the man exited, Hurtt was ready to document his meltdown, should it make another appearance.
“He was pretty much at that level on the way in,” Hurtt told National File. “So, knowing he would come back, I situated the camera in my pocket and waited for him to come back out, where he continued.”
