Newly-released photographs have revealed the third-world and torturous prison conditions faced by J6 Patriot Ryan Samsel as he languishes away in federal custody with no trial and no conviction.
January 6th political prisoner Ryan Samsel has been held with no trial by the United States federal government since January of 2021 and is facing torturous prison conditions at Philadelphia’s Federal Detention Center – the 17th federal detention facility in which he’s been housed.
Photographs originally published by The Gateway Pundit have given the American People an up-close look at the conditions that Samsel is faced with, and document the 5 month period that Samsel spent in solitary confinement, in a filthy mop closet.
In the photographs, which are included below, Samsel is seen partially clothed and lying on a thin blue mat slapped onto the floor, which served as the federal government’s excuse for a bed. The bed featured no blankets or sheets, and the clothes that Samsel wore in the photographs were the only clothes he’d been issued – just a pair of small tan shorts.
Behind him, is his “toilet”, a bright yellow mop bucket that sits next to a mop sink, usually used by janitorial staff to dispose of dirty mop water. Grime and filth can be seen all over the floor and walls.
What’s more, is that in a blatant attempt to mentally and physically torture Samsel, federal prison guards left the lights on in his solitary confinement mop closet cell 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

According to The Gateway Pundit, the hideous prison conditions and 24/7 lighting are far from the only torture that Ryan Samsel has been subjected to. The Pundit reports that Ryan Samsel has been “beaten, abused, tortured, and neglected” since he was first imprisoned in January 2021.
Speaking to The Gateway Pundit, Ryan Samsel revealed that the prison conditions he’s faced with Philadelphia are the same that he was faced with while in federal custody in Virginia.
“It was cold, the light was on, there’s zero window,” said Samsel. “And that followed me from Virginia. When I was in Virginia, it was the same exact conditions.”
While housed in the solitary mop closets, Samsel was deprived of medical treatment and even deprived of showing up to his own court appearances.
“What was happening is the judge was actually calling, trying to get in contact with me because I wasn’t in a named cell,” Samsel revealed. “They were missing me and they were saying I wasn’t showing up to court. They were saying I wasn’t showing up to medical. But they were pretty much keeping me in there.”
