Parents of children attending New York City Public Schools P.S. 188, P.S. 189, and P.S. 17 are outraged after learning that the schools are being set up to house illegal aliens, with rows of cots lined up in gymnasiums as open borders and sanctuary city policies strain New York City’s shelters, where homeless Americans are already being turned away to accommodate the flood of illegals.
Local New York City media released a video Monday showing beds and other living necessities being wheeled into New York City Public Schools to house illegal aliens.
Monique Mardie, a parent of a child attending P.S. 188, told local New York reporters, “You mean as far as living? And how temporary is this? I don’t think it’s a good idea because it’s inside of a school.”
Destiny Martin, an older sibling of a sister attending P.S.188, told local New York media, “God forbid a kid goes missing. What’s Eric Adams going to say? I’m sorry. No, something needs to be done.”

In response to the news, New York City Congresswoman Nicole Malliotakis expressed anger at the Biden Administration and New York Democrat leaders tweeting, “Councilman @JustinBrannan and other #NYC Democrats may want to continue turning more hotels & schools into shelters and parks into tent cities, but I refuse to help them fund this madness. Tell @POTUS to secure the border and stop misinterpreting NYC’s right to shelter law!”

New York City Councilmember Joann Ariola also expressed anger over what is happening in New York City schools, tweeting, “Housing migrants on the campuses of our schools is gravely dangerous. We need to keep our children safe. Housing them in our federal parks and monuments is equally as unacceptable. @NYCMayor and @KathyHochul we need to close our city’s borders once and for all.”

American Federation of Teachers President Randi Weingarten has remained silent about illegal aliens moving into public schools. This fact is odd, considering the chances are higher than not that a teacher at one of these schools is not ok with illegal aliens living on school property.
Public school students across America are still educationally recovering from lost learning due to covid lockdowns that Democrats pushed. Now Democrats are pushing another obstacle that could stand in the way of your child’s education.
Update: New York City authorities are now housing illegal aliens at 7 New York City Public Schools.
