Mainstream media outlets are beginning to shift their narrative on the spread of monkeypox, suggesting that the virus is primarily spread through homosexual intercourse, and not “skin to skin” contact.
NBC News published an article that explained sexual intercourse between homosexuals is the driving reason behind the surging spread of monkeypox.
UCLA infectious disease specialist Dr. Paul Adamson, citing recently reported data, said the virus is “more efficiently transmitted sexually” than skin-to-skin contact.
Since most lesions caused by the virus are located “in men’s genital and anorectal areas,” scientists are beginning to conclude the virus was transmitted via those areas in homosexual intercourse.
“An expanding cadre of experts has come to believe that sex between men itself — both anal as well as oral intercourse — is likely the main driver of global monkeypox transmission,” NBC News wrote.
NBC encouraged the CDC and other public health agencies to “update their monkeypox communication strategies to more strongly emphasize the centrality of intercourse among gay and bisexual men, who comprise nearly all U.S. cases, to the virus’ spread.”
As the monkeypox virus has begun to reportedly appear in underage children, lawmakers and concerned citizens nationwide have begun questioning how these minors are receiving this typically sexually-transmitted disease.

In a post made to Twitter, Greene attached video footage of Biden CDC Director Rochelle Walensky announcing the cases of monkeypox in children and asked why kids are getting a sexually transmitted disease.
“If monkeypox is a sexually transmitted disease, why are kids getting it?” Greene asked.
