The office of Gov. Gretchen Whitmer (D-MI) included a gay sex club on a list of “essential” services in state of Michigan, a report by PJ Media reveals.
The Lansing-based Club Tabu, which describes itself as “primarily focused on ‘male/trans fantasies’,” touts its “BDSM flavor” as part of the club’s appeal. The designation of it as “essential” allows it to stay open, despite the intense state lockdown in Michigan.
“Club Tabu is an 18 & up men’s alternative lounge in Lansing, Michigan,” the description on the website reads. “We are located within Fantasies Unlimited! We focus on Gay, Bi, Trans Men with a BDSM Flavor and a commitment to discretion and privacy.”

Club Tabu features a range of amenities for LGBTQ men, including “glory holes”, where men can insert their penises into a hole in the wall and perform sexual acts with unknown individuals on the other side.

In contrast, barbers, which have not received the designation of “essential” service from the Governor, remain closed in the state of Michigan. Some have even faced arrest for reopening without the Governor’s consent.

A Michigan barber, who reopened his shop Monday in defiance of Gov. Gretchen Whitmer’s coronavirus lockdown order, says that even though he was issued tickets that could see him face jail time and fines, he will continue working until police arrest him, Taser him or “Jesus walks in.”
Karl Manke, 77, told local media outlets that police had cited him twice for reopening his barbershop in Owosso, where he has cut hair for 60 years. He said he is due in court on June 6.
