In an upcoming documentary, Meghan Markle’s father has slammed the actions of her daughter and her husband Harry, accusing the couple of “destroying” the Royal Family.
Thomas Markle, 75, called the pair “lost souls” and called it “embarrassing” when he discovered that the couple had abandoned the Royal Family in favor of what appeared to be successful contracts.
Markle spoke to Channel 5 in his eponymous documentary, “Thomas Markle: My Story,” in a clip released Sunday.
He said: “This is like one of the greatest long-living institutions ever.
“They are destroying it, they are cheapening it, they’re making it shabby.
“They are turning it into a Walmart with a crown on it now. It is something that is ridiculous, they shouldn’t be doing this.”
According to Page Six, Markle said that he was shocked because it was “every girl’s dream” to marry a prince.
Markle will act as a key witness against his daughter in an upcoming court case in the UK.
“Every young girl wants to become a princess and she got that and now she’s tossing that away,” he told the 90-minute doc, which Channel 5 said will air “in the coming weeks”.
“It looks like she’s tossing that away for money,” he said.
“Apparently, $3 million on a 26-bedroom home isn’t enough for them. It’s kind of embarrassing to me,” referring to 10-bedroom Frogmore Cottage.
The costs of the heavily renovated cottage will be demanded to be repaid by the Queen in her so-called “Megxit” deal.
Markle went onto say: “I think both of them are turning into lost souls at this point. I don’t think they know what they are looking for.”
“I can’t see her reaching out to me — especially now,” he said.
