America First Congressman Matt Gaetz called out the lack of consequences faced by “weaponized” FBI and DOJ election meddlers in the wake of the Durham Report’s release, telling a Newsmax panel that the FBI has become the “enforcement wing of the Democrat Party” and a personal tool of Joe Biden. The Durham Report, said Gaetz, is an “insufficient consequence” for the deep state’s attacks on the American People.
Florida Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-1) joined a Newsmax panel led by Chris Plante to discuss the findings of the Durham Report, which confirmed that the FBI, DOJ, Obama Administration, and other deep state actors collaborated with Hillary Clinton’s 2016 campaign to concoct the phony Russian collusion narrative.

“The FBI and Department of Justice were weaponized and Trump was specifically targeted,” Gaetz told the Newsmax Panel.
“In essence, the FBI has now become a disinformation and election interference enterprise here in our country. It’s very damning for them. The Steele Dossier was nonsense. The probable cause standard, even to originate an investigation, not to continue but even to originate an investigation, was never met and you had a secret court that was lied to.”
“This report is an insufficient consequence for the malfeasance and corruption that we have seen here,” Gaetz went on to say.
“It was an operation, from beginning to end, to fuse political opposition research from the DNC and the Clinton Campaign with this intelligence process and criminal process and it’s a sad day in America.”
“If that had been a Republican operation, an operation to help a Republican candidate,” Gaetz said, “this wouldn’t have ended in a report it would have ended in indictments.”
While Rep. Gaetz has been outspoken on reining in the deep state in the wake of the Durham Report’s release, the GOP at large has been flaccid, with some using the report as ammunition for Fox News soundbites and political grandstanding and others seemingly ignoring the issue altogether, apparently ready to stand down and allow the deep state to meddle in the 2024 election as well.
The Durham Report, compiled by career government man John Durham, has been criticized for delivering no indictments upon its release, and Gaetz noted in his Newsmax appearance, that the only person indicted in relation to Durham’s investigation is already back to practicing law.
“The only indictment that Durham is able to cite here is in the indictment of Kevin Clinesmith,” Gaetz explained. “This was the FBI lawyer who changed evidence before a secret court. And guess what? He’s already back to practicing law. Got his law license back and he’s practicing law here in DC now.”
“Insufficient!”
