Investigative journalist Laura Loomer revealed in an interview conducted on Saturday that Marjorie Taylor Greene previously asked her to “dig up all the dirt” on Kevin McCarthy (D-CA) she could, despite the fact Greene recently gave her full endorsement of McCarthy in his run for the next U.S. Speaker of the House of Representatives.
“Marjorie had always been very outspoken against Kevin McCarthy. I have text messages with Marjorie Taylor Greene on my cell phone where she talks about how she thinks Kevin McCarthy is so stupid and how she wants me to dig up all the dirt I can on him and his extramarital affairs, so that we can prevent McCarthy from being Speaker,” Loomer said.
Loomer saw the recent endorsement given by Greene to McCarthy as a “drastic 180.”

“So it’s a really kind of concerning but also a drastic 180 when you’re looking at it from my perspective as somebody who was a candidate who, you know, had personal communications with her and now I’m seeing her completely flip and support the establishment she originally campaigned against and said that she would never support,” Loomer said.
…saying that Matt Gaetz and Marjorie Taylor Greene were going to be Kevin McCarthy's worst and that McCarthy didn't have the votes to be speaker.
Now she's trying to convince us that in order to defeat the uni-party, you must vote for the uni-party," Loomer said. "It's crazy."

“I mean, it was only a few months ago that she was parading around with Matt Gaetz to rallies saying that Matt Gaetz and Marjorie Taylor Greene were going to be Kevin McCarthy’s worst and that McCarthy didn’t have the votes to be speaker.”
“Now she’s trying to convince us that in order to defeat the uni-party, you must vote for the uni-party,” Loomer said. “It’s crazy.”
Loomer is not the only person who has taken note of the flip-flop by MTG.
Colonel Conrad Reynolds (RET.), a 29-year veteran of the U.S. Army and former intelligence officer, stated he was “disappointed” that MTG was “shilling for McCarthy.”
“I support Andy Biggs because he’s a Freedom Caucus fighter. We need leaders who aren’t swampers and who stick to conservative principles – such as fiscal responsibility and border protection,” Reynolds told The National File.
The U.S. Constitution does not require that the Speaker of the House be a current member of Congress, however, no non-members have ever been elected.
The election for the next Speaker of the House will take place on January 3rd, 2022.
