Republican Nominee for Governor of Arizona, Kari Lake, trolled her opponent, incumbent Arizona Secretary of State Katie Hobbs (D), in statements made to the media on Friday in response to a recent television ad that featured outgoing U.S. Rep. Liz Cheney (R-WY). Cheney was ousted after tirelessly campaigning against former President Trump, who she voted to impeach. In response to Cheney’s ad, Lake said her team has experienced a fundraising boon.
“Thank you for your generous in-kind contribution to my campaign. Your recent television ad urging Arizonans not to vote for me is doing just the opposite,” Lake said in reference to the Cheney ad. “Our campaign donations are skyrocketing and our website nearly crashed from traffic as people rushed to learn more about my plan to put Arizona First and join our historic political movement.”

“In fact, my team tells me your commercial should add another 10 points to our lead! I guess that’s why they call the Cheney anti-endorsement the gift that keeps on giving,” Lake added.
“While we appreciate your in-kind contribution, the $500,000 ad buy likely exceeds Arizona’s $5,300 individual contribution limit,” Lake wrote satirically. “Thank you again for the huge boost to our campaign! Enjoy your forced retirement from politics. I know America will rest easier knowing that one more warmonger is out of office.”‘
In another tweet, the Republican gubernatorial hopeful stated that the Cheney ad had led to an increase in fundraising. “Liz Cheney has helped us raise almost $50,000 dollars today…simply by coming out against me!” Lake said on Saturday. “Let’s keep it going!”
“Thanks to my biggest fundraiser, Liz Cheney, we raised over $300,000 yesterday!”

Cheney published an advertisement on Friday that attacked not just Lake, but the GOP Nominee for Arizona Secretary of State, Mark Finchem.
“I don’t know that I have ever voted for a Democrat, but if I lived in Arizona, I absolutely would,” the disgraced Cheney said. “If you care about the survival of our Republic, we cannot give people power who will not honor elections.”

For her part, Lake made an endorsement of Doug Mastriano (R) in the gubernatorial race in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. “We can’t afford cowardice right now. I ask you to vote for Doug Mastriano. I know that with America First governors like myself and Doug Mastriano added to the list, we can strengthen our states and pull back power from the federal government,” Lake said in her endorsement statement.
