Kari Lake, a former journalist now running for the Republican Party’s nomination to be the next Governor of Arizona, has promised to complete unfinished portions of border wall in her state, even if it means building on federal lands in defiance of Joe Biden.
Lake made the remarks during an appearance on Tim Pool’s podcast, and later uploaded an excerpt to her Twitter account. “Is Joe Biden going to send officials in to arrest a sitting Governor,” wrote Lake. “Try me.”
“Now we’re seeing a crisis,” Lake said in the interview. “First of all, we need to sue the federal government for failing to protect us, and while that lawsuit is working its way through the system, let’s go down and start building the wall,” she explained. “We have many, many miles of Arizona state land we can be building it on, and let’s finish these little gaps.”

“They’re coming through a funnel where there’s a gap in the President’s wall,” said Lake, “And it is on federal land, but let’s build the wall anyway, what’s Joe Biden going to do? Arrest a sitting governor? I mean honestly.”
Pool asked if Lake thought Biden would, and Pool’s cohost suggested that it was possible. Lake said she would welcome such a development if elected.
“I would welcome that challenge, because he’s failing at his duty,” said Lake. “The federal government is failing us in Arizona.”
Lake seems poised for success in the Republican Party primary, as she’s already secured the endorsement of 45th President Donald Trump. National File reported:
In his statement, President Donald Trump wrote that Kari Lake “is a fantastic person” and noted her work as a “highly respected” local television anchor. “Because of this, few can take on the Fake News Media like Kari,” wrote President Trump.
“She will do a far better job than RINO Governor Doug Ducey – won’t even be a contest!” President Trump added, “Kari Lake has my Complete and Total Endorsement. She will be a great Governor for the incredible people of Arizona!”
As a candidate, Lake has championed President Trump’s policies while honing in on key Republican issues. In October, Lake appeared at an American Airlines protest where airline workers expressed dissatisfaction over the airline’s decision to comply with Joe Biden’s divisive COVID-19 vaccine mandate.
