Phoenix law enforcement responded to Arizona GOP gubernatorial candidate Kari Lake’s campaign office on Saturday night after “suspicious items,” including a white powdery substance and threatening messages, were received in the mail.
A spokesman for the Phoenix Police Department told Fox News that officers “responded to a found property call at an office building near 40th Street and Camelback Road.”
“When officers arrived, they learned there were suspicious items located inside the mail,” Phoenix police Sgt. Phil Krynsky,” told the outlet. “Additional resources responded to collect the items and secure the area. There have been no reports of injury and the investigation remains active.”
Local and federal law enforcement, including the FBI, were at one of Lake’s campaign offices from 10 p.m. Saturday until 5 a.m. the following morning. Both a hazmat and bomb squad team were dispatched to the scene, while the suspicious white substance was collected by the FBI for analysis.

Officers responded after a staffer opened an envelope that contained a “suspicious white powder” and “threatening messages” that targeted the candidate and her family members.
Lake’s campaign believes this was a “terroristic attack, trying to intimidate Kari and the campaign staff.”
When asked specifically what was found, Krynsky told Fox News that, “The items were suspicious in nature and remains under investigation. Our patrol units were there until approximately 5 a.m.”
The attack on Lake’s campaign office come’s just a little over a week after corporate media outlets, as well as the Hobbs campaign, attempted to blame Lake for a break-in at one of Hobbs’ offices. After quickly pinning the incident on Lake, it was revealed that a homeless man with a history of burglary was arrested in connection with the crime.
Katie Hobbs has yet to comment on the attack as of 12:30 p.m. west coast time.
