Presumptive 2024 Democrat presidential nominee Kamala Harris compared Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents to the Ku Klux Klan and U.S. Border Patrol agents to antebellum slave owners in separate statements made over the course of her political career, including as Joe Biden’s Border Czar – a position Democrats now bizarrely claim she never held.
Back in 2018, when 45th President Trump’s nominee for ICE Director, Ronald Vitiello, faced his Senate confirmation hearing, then-California Senator Kamala Harris seized upon comments Vitiello made in a tweet years prior, in which he called the Democrat Party “neo-Klanist.”
Harris re-appropriated the tweet to be used against Vitiello and the Immigration and Customs Enforcement Agency, claiming that there’s a “perception,” “specifically among immigrants coming from Mexico and Central America” that ICE is a Ku Klux Klan-style organization.
According to Fox News, the 2018 exchange went something like this:
“What is the history that would then make those words wrong?” Harris asked, to which Vitiello said the KKK would be labeled as a domestic terrorist group by today’s standards and was motivated by race and ethnicity and tried to use “fear and force.”
“Are you aware of the perception of many about how the power and the discretion at ICE is being used to enforce the laws and do you see any parallels?” she asked.
Vitiello pushed back by saying, “I do not see any parallels” between the agency and the white supremacist group, and he asked whether she was asking him if the two were in the same category.
“No, I’m very specific about what I’m asking you. Are you aware of a perception that the way that they …” Harris went on before the nominee said, “I see none.”
“Are you aware that there is a perception that ICE is administering its power in a way that is causing fear and intimidation, particularly among immigrants and specifically among immigrants coming from Mexico and Central America?” she asked again.
In comments she later made in 2021, as Joe Biden’s Border Czar, Harris attacked Border Patrol agents who were targeted by the Biden Administration and open-borders activists after they were photographed trying to contain an illegal migrant surge on horseback along the southern border.
“They will pay,” Harris said of the horse-mounted Border Patrol agents, before accusing them of evoking images of slavery by apprehending those who’ve illegally entered American territory.
Kamala Harris’s derogatory remarks about America’s immigration enforcement officers have resurfaced as she launches her 2024 presidential campaign, in place of Joe Biden. Immediately after her campaign was announced, Republicans seized on her failure to do much of anything to try and secure America’s southern border, a task she was given as Joe Biden’s Border Czar.
Under Harris’s watch, at least 10 million illegal aliens are estimated to have entered the United States.
Democrats and their allies in the corporate press are going to such lengths to cover up Harris’s border failures, that they’re now claiming she was never the Border Czar – a claim that’s easily disproven.
