In a now deleted 2013 tweet, Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-Minnesota) wished a happy Father’s Day to her “aabo Nur Said,” which would mean her true name is Ilhan Nur Said, the same surname as her ex husband, who allegedly is her brother.
Omar has faced increasing scrutiny over what was allegedly a sham marriage to skirt United States immigration policy to help her brother, Ahmed Nur Said, gain United States citizenship under false pretenses.
Now, many consider the deleted 2013 Father’s Day tweet to be proof that Omar has lied about her identity to hide the alleged sham marriage.
According to One America News’ Jack Posobiec, quoting Immigration and Customs Enforcement, “If anyone they enters into a sham marriage for the purpose of evading US immigration law it is a felony offense carrying a prison sentence of up to 4 years and a fine of up to $250,000.”
He added that this “applies to both foreign nationals and US citizens who perpetrate this crime.”
It has also been alleged that Omar committed tax fraud by filing jointly with her ex husband and alleged brother while also filing with her second husband.
Twitter users are reacting to the new revelation with a mix of disgust and humor.
Emerald Robinson, the White House correspondent for One America News, wrote “Ladies, are we being too hard on @IlhanMN?” She added, “Haven’t we all changed our name, married our brother, left our boyfriend and kids behind to shack up with a married guy from work, spouted anti-American garbage from Congress and forgot about that one tweet that uncovers a lifetime of lies?”

Robinson references another recent scandal faced by Omar.
The freshman representative allegedly cheated on her second husband with a man who was paid by her congressional campaign, and reportedly left her children and her second husband to move in with her new love interest.
