GoFundMe has removed a group of Loudoun County, Virginia parents against critical race theory from the fundraising website, caving to left-wing demands from teachers and school board members in a district that has become ground zero in the fight against the use of the radical, racist curriculum.
Created by Loudoun County parent Scott Mineo just weeks ago, the page had already raised around $4,000 dollars on March 25th, when Mineo says he was notified by the site of the page’s ban.
Just three days prior, Charlotte McConnell (who refers herself with the pronoun of “they”), a former Loudoun County School Board “Equity Committee” member had zeroed in on the fundraising page, organizing with fellow past and present school system officials and employees to get the page removed.
Speaking to the Washington Free Beacon, Mineo said that the district has made a “grave mistake” in the political targeting of parents, exposing themselves and their agenda for what they truly are.
“[The district] pissed off a lot of people that were very supportive and this was a grave mistake on their part,” Mineo said. “At the end of the day, it further underscores the level of deception they are engaged in. Otherwise, why shut them down?”
The removal of the GoFundMe page marks just the latest in a series of battles between district parents and school employees – one which has become a sort of microcosm of national issues surrounding education and the radical left’s infiltration of America’s classrooms.
As previously reported by National File, parroting the demands of Black Lives Matter and Antifa-led radicals, members of the Loudoun County School Board have made several pushes in favor of bringing radical critical race curriculum to schools. The district has even spent hundreds of thousands of dollars paying for “equity consultations” from professional social justice warriors.
What’s more, is that district teachers, a majority of school board members, and even a George Soros-funded prosecutor are members of a local Facebook group meant to list and target parents on the “wrong side” of political issues.
The “Anti-Racist Parents of Loudoun County” group operates with the stated goal of taking down those they even suspect of opposing critical race theory. According to the group’s own posts, members are to work to “infiltrate” groups of parents against critical race theory, and even to hire hackers to access the parents’ personal information. The group is currently under investigation by the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office.
