In an episode of The View, Whoopi Goldberg–who has been embroiled in a few scandals involving her friendship with Harvey Weinstein–made a stunning claim suggesting that shamed filmmaker, Roman Polanski, wasn’t guilty of “rape-rape.”
On The View episode which aired Sept. 8, 2009 Goldberg appears to downplay the actions of Polanski in which he drugged, raped, and sodomized a 13-year-old girl, which were dropped following plea bargaining and he admitted unlawful sexual intercourse with a minor, in 1977.
Polanski then fled the US to Switzerland in 1978 before ever being sentenced for the crime and was then pursued around the world by prosecutors.
In the show, Goldberg says: “I know it wasn’t rape-rape. It was something else but I don’t believe it was rape-rape. He went to jail and and when they let him out he was like, ‘You know what, this guy’s going to give me a hundred years in jail. I’m not staying.’ So that’s why he left.”
Later on, in addition to her redoubtable defense of Polanski: “We’re a different kind of society, we see things differently… would I want my 14-year-old having sex with somebody? Not necessarily, no.”
At the time, the claim whipped up a storm as the general consensus pointed to the indefensible acts committed by the disgraced filmmaker.
Last year, Donald Trump Jr clashed with Goldberg, after she framed his concern for the rule of law and due process as the ramblings of a man who fears his sons are potential rapists, reminding the public of her infamous “rape-rape” statement, according to The Washington Times.
.@WhoopiGoldberg, instead of insinuating that my sons are potential future abusers, you might want to explain why you defended actual child rapist Roman Polanski?

Donald Trump Jr again clashed with Goldberg on the 5000th episode on The View, dredging up old grievances dating back to last year.
According to Politico:
Donald Trump Jr. and his girlfriend, Kimberly Guilfoyle, turned in a predictably combative performance on Thursday’s episode of “The View,” with the president’s son hurling explosive accusations at the daytime talk show’s hosts during the 5,000 th installment of the long-running ABC program.
One of the most contentious moments of the live taping came after comedian Joy Behar — one of the more liberal members of the show’s all-female panel and a frequent punching bag of conservative media — invoked President Donald Trump’s past statements regarding Mexican “ rapists” crossing the border into the U.S., his mocking of a disabled reporter during a campaign event, and his boasts on the infamous “Access Hollywood” tape about sexually assaulting women with impunity.
The video resurfaces at the same time Project Veritas exposes ABC News for refusing to air a segment about deceased billionaire pedophile Jeffrey Epstein, who allegedly used pedophilia to lure and blackmail powerful men from around the world, ranging from British royalty to Democratic politicians.
