After the arrest of Jeffrey Epstein in 2019, Politico reported that Ghislaine Maxwell was close friends with Chelsea Clinton, the daughter of former President Bill Clinton and failed presidential candidate Hillary Clinton, and a photo surfaced appearing to show Maxwell in attendance at Chelsea’s wedding.
Maxwell was close friends with Clinton as recently as 2013, “vacationing on a yacht with Chelsea Clinton in 2009, attending her wedding in 2010, and participating in the Clinton Global Initiative,” according to Politico.
Politico notes the close relationship between the powerful women occurred years after accusations of being Epstein’s madam or pimp were already mainstream.
Maxwell was reportedly close with the former president as well as his daughter, Politico reporting “One person familiar with the Maxwell-Clinton relationship said that while Maxwell ‘was incredibly close’ to Chelsea Clinton,” but adds that Maxwell “Sher own relationship with Bill Clinton and was very close to him.”
Around the same time, a photo surfaced appearing to show Maxwell in attendance at Clinton’s wedding, with the alleged child predator standing in the crowd as President Clinton walked Chelsea down the aisle.
“Here’s Ghislaine Maxwell, by many accounts Jeffrey Epstein’s ‘pimp’ and ‘groomer of girls’ at Chelsea Clinton’s wedding,” wrote writer and director Adam McKay.

It is unclear when the relationship between the Clinton family and Maxwell deteriorated, or if it has deteriorated since 2013, when Maxwell participated in the Clinton Global Initiative.
Ghislaine Maxwell was arrested earlier this month, almost a year after Epstein was arrested.
In addition charges claiming she served as Epstein’s pimp, authorities say on several occasions Maxwell actively participated in the sexual abuse of minor girls alongside Epstein after luring them into his property, often with promises of money and support.
Epstein was found dead in his cell after being arrested last year, with his death controversially being ruled a suicide despite its suspicious circumstances.
