Anthony Fauci confirmed that the first known case of COVID-19 caused by the omicron variant was in an individual who was “fully vaccinated” against COVID-19, but was apparently not yet eligible or chose not to receive a third dose of the vaccine popularly referred to as a booster shot.
Fauci confirmed that authorities have confirmed a California COVID-19 case was “caused by the omicron variant.” He continued, “The individual was a traveler, he returned from South Africa on November 22, and tested positive on November 29. The individual is self quarantining and all close contacts have been contacted and all close contacts, thus far, have tested negative.”
“The individual was fully vaccinated,” explained Fauci, “and experienced mild symptoms which are improving at this time.”
Dr. Fauci gave this guidance to Americans after the first confirmed U.S. case of omicron was identified in California:

The omicron variant appears to have been first detected in vaccinated individuals in Botswana who were diplomatic travelers. At the time, National File reported:
The government of Botswana reported that the four people in the country reported to have the new COVID-19 variant – coined “Omicron” by the China and Bill Gates-funded World Health Organization – were previously vaccinated against COVID-19.
In a statement published on November 25, 2021,the Botswana government acknowledged that “four (4) cases of a new COVID-19 variant” now known as Omicron “were reported and recorded” on November 22.
Still, Democrats and their public health allies are urging Americans to get vaccinated and embrace a seemingly endless regime of booster shots to prevent the spread of COVID-19 and the omicron variant.
Joe Biden previously called for increased vaccination efforts in response to the variant, and today he was joined by Ron Klain, the Democrat powered broker currently serving as Chief of Staff for the Biden White House.
“If you are over 18, and were vaccinated before June 1, go get your booster,” wrote the Democrat messaging expert.

The news of the omicron variant has been met with mixed reviews, with financial markets taking deep losses as it was confirmed omicron spread outside Africa. However, most government sources containing information about the omicron variant suggest those who contract it suffer only mild symptoms.
