On last night’s broadcast of Tucker Carlson Tonight, Fox News host Tucker Carlson continued his ongoing exposure of the odd relationship between anti-Trump pollster Frank Luntz, who doubles as a lobbyist for pharmaceutical and big tech companies, and Republican House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy. Now, Carlson has exposed that McCarthy pays only $1,500 per month to live in a palatial 7,000 square foot penthouse apartment owned by Luntz.
“Frank Luntz is a pollster in Washington DC,” began Carlson, “his real job is working for Google and promoting Oxycontin in the middle of an opium epidemic.” Carlson continued, “Whatever you think of Frank Luntz, he’s great to live with, to share a toothbrush with. We know that because Kevin McCarthy does it. How much does he pay for that? It’s a question we had asked, because of course rules in the House about accepting gifts at under market prices.”
“Well, we learned that Kevin McCarthy paid $1,500 a month to live in Frank Luntz’s apartment. That sounds fine until you find out the apartment is 7,000 square feet and it’s a penthouse.” Carlson then revealed that “McCarthy’s spokesman defended that, saying that’s fair market rate because McCarthy is renting only one of twelve bedrooms in the apartment, and it’s only 400 square feet. Well, I guess that means that he doesn’t use the kitchen, or the living room, it’s just a 400 square foot bathroom. It gives the term friend and family discount a whole new meaning.”

Carlson discovered the strange bedfellow arrangement last week, when he said, “Over the weekend we got a call from a source who said that in fact, Frank Luntz and Kevin McCarthy are not simply friends, they’re roommates,” Carlson revealed. “Kevin McCarthy lives in Frank Luntz’s apartment in downtown Washington. That’s what we were told, and honestly we did not believe it. The top Republican in the House lives with a Google lobbyist? Come on, come on. Even by the sleazy and corrupt standards of politics in Washington, that did not seem possible, in fact it sounded like a joke.”
He added, “So actually the top Republican in the House does live with someone who lobbies for Google,” Carlson said. “Mystery solved. Not only are they friends, they’re roommates! So now you know why they listen to Frank Luntz but they don’t listen to you.” McCarthy’s spokesman previously assured Carlson that he is paying a “fair market rate” for the accommodations.

Almost immediately after Carlson exposed McCarthy’s questionable living situation, the Republican Leader began suggesting that it was time for anti-Trump Rep. Liz Cheney to be removed from her leadership role within the Republican Party.
