Facebook is now blocking users from posting links to JoeBiden.info, a parody campaign site that shows the former vice president and current Democrat candidate for president hugging, sniffing, and kissing women and children in a series of videos and images.
As more evidence comes to light about the accusations levied against Biden by Tara Read, who claims that Biden “penetrated” her with his fingers, Facebook quietly blocked the link from being posted to the platform, claiming it is in violation of the website’s Community Standards.
Prior to Reade’s allegations surfacing, multiple women accused Biden of abusive touching, fondling, and hair sniffing in 2019. The website contains videos and images of some of these incidents.
At press time, the parody campaign website cannot be posted publicly to Facebook, nor can it be shared via private messages between users. If a user attempts to do so, they will receive a notice that their message could not be sent, and will be provided with a link to Facebook’s Community Standards.
While Facebook does ban inauthentic behavior on its platform, it is not clear if this website could be considered inauthentic, as the website specifically states its satirical nature:
Warning: Satire
This is not Joe Biden’s actual website.
This site is political commentary and parody of Joe Biden’s Presidential campaign website.
It is intended for entertainment and political commentary only and is therefore protected under fair use.It is not paid for by any candidate, committee, organization, or PAC.
It is a project BY AN American citizen FOR American citizens. Self-Funded.
National File contacted Facebook for comment and did not receive an immediate response.
The creator of the parody website told National File that the site has been banned on Facebook and Reddit, with moderators singling out his website for punishment on Reddit, and was a likely not top-down decision to ban it on Facebook. The creator explained that he was bombarded with threats of reporting his website from Facebook users, and believes that the social media platform might have automatically flagged the website as inappropriate.
The mainstream media has been criticized for refusing to cover Reade’s accusation, and a major #MeToo organization has, thus far, refused to help Reade with legal expenses or public relations assistance as she continues to move forward with her criminal complaint against Biden.
