Democrat strategist and MSNBC contributor Symone Sanders told MSNBC’s Morning Joe that the Democratic Party will shut down the democratic process to protect Joe Biden from the campaign of Robert F. Kennedy Jr., who’s challenging Biden for the Democrats’ 2024 presidential nomination and is already receiving the support of roughly 20% of Democrat primary voters.
When asked by Morning Joe co-host Joe Scarborough if RFK Jr. presents a serious challenge to Democrat incumbent Joe Biden, Symone Sanders, a former Biden employee and Democrat insider told Scarborough that the DNC will block the primary process and refuse to sponsor any debates, for the express purpose of stifling Kennedy’s campaign and protecting their unpopular incumbent.
“He’s at 19%,” Scarborough remarked, referring to recent polling data that shows RFK Jr. could present a serious challenge to Biden.

“I’m starting to hear more and more talk about him,” Scarborough went on. “Are we going to actually have a challenge here?”
“I’m trying not to laugh, Joe,” Sanders replied.
“I really think that the mealy mouth Democrats, as I like to call them, and some of my progressive friends who would like to live in a fantasy land, they need to come back to reality,” Sanders went on to say.
“And the reality is this: The sitting President of the United States is a Democrat. A Democrat that would like to run for re-election so much so that he has declared a re-election campaign. In that case, the Democratic National Committee will not facilitate a primary process. There will be no debate stage for Bobby Kennedy, Marianne Williamson, or anyone else to stand on.”
“There will be no debating,” Sanders affirmed as she vowed that Democrats will shut down the democratic process to protect Joe Biden.
“The Democratic National Committee administers the debates and they’re not going to set up a primary process for debates for someone to challenge the head of the Democratic Party,” said Sanders.
