RINO senators Susan Collins of Maine and Lisa Murkowski of Alaska voted “No” on Kash Patel’s confirmation to become President Donald Trump’s Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) director. Nevertheless, Patel got 51 Yes votes against 49 No votes and won confirmation.
Collins and Murkowski are longtime Swampers who constantly wield power by virtue of the fact that they are usually on the fence on key votes, unsure whether or not they will vote for the Republican party line or the Democrat party line.
We had to pay close attention to Collins and Murkowski during the Robert F. Kennedy Jr. confirmation process, but ultimately they decided to confirm Kennedy. Outgoing lame-duck Kentucky senator Mitch McConnell, who provided the lone “No” vote on Kennedy, actually voted to confirm Patel.
Patel is a favorite of the MAGA movement for his years of criticizing the Deep State. Obviously, the FBI under Joe Biden became even more corrupt and politicized than usual, with the Bureau targeting America Firsters and January 6 patriots. Can Kash Patel actually reform the FBI? Does he have an appetite for dismantling the agency?
We will watch closely as Kash Patel assumes his new role as FBI director. Though many folks start out with goodwill from the MAGA movement, Trump’s supporters are savvy enough to criticize policies and decisions that they disagree with. We will hold Patel and the FBI accountable with objective journalism.
For now, Patel’s confirmation marks yet another big win for President Trump and the MAGA movement, which is righteously imposing its will on a Republican Party that previously did not even want populists anywhere near it. Are you tired of Winning yet?
