TV news show host and Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk praised National File for doing “more to help” the GOP knock off left-wing Democrats in 2020 than Mitch McConnell himself did during a broadcast of The Charlie Kirk Show on Real America’s Voice. National File’s reporting on the Cal Cunningham affair, Kirk said, “saved us the North Carolina Senate Seat.”
Charlie Kirk praised National File’s reporting on North Carolina Democrat Senate nominee Cal Cunningham’s affair scandal, which was broken by Senior Reporter Patrick Howley and swung the North Carolina US Senate race in favor of the GOP.
Cunningham was backed and bankrolled by big-money Democrat donors who descended on the state’s US Senate race as a means to turn North Carolina blue. Prior to National File’s exclusive reporting on the Cunningham affair, he was leading in the polls and was expected to flip the state into Democrat hands.
“National File didn’t get the credit it deserved back in the 2020 Election,” Charlie Kirk said before praising the site for exposing Cunningham’s affair and doing more to help the GOP than Mitch McConnell did himself.
“Actually National File did more to help an establishment RINO than McConnell’s PAC did,” Kirk continued, saying that the story “totally turned the race in favor of Thom Tillis. And that was thanks to the reporting of National File.
The report, which led to criminal investigations and the pulling of several of Cunningham’s endorsements, had such negative reverberations on North Carolina Democrats, that it’s also been credited with swinging the state back into the Trump column in the Presidential Election.
“Great reporting at NationalFile.com and again, I think National File’s gonna have some big reporting coming into this election cycle,” Kirk went on to say.
“What they did in ’20 saved us the North Carolina Senate seat. Even though Thom Tillis has been a huge disappointment on many things, he has National File to largely thank.”
