TikTok CEO and CCP National Shou Chew Zi Chew testified on Thursday to the United States Congress Energy and Commerce Committee. The TikTok CEO’s testimony revealed that the Chinese Communist Party has access to U.S. TikTok users’ data and TikTok allowed a video to play for months on its platform that encouraged American citizens to target members of Congress who are for banning TikTok.
Rep. Kat Cammack (R-FL) played a video from the Chinese Communist Party-owned TikTok during Thursday’s hearing that showed an animated gun shooting bullets. Above the animated gun read the caption “Meet Asf at the House Energy and Commerce Committee on 3/23.”
In response to the video, the U.S. Congress Energy and Commerce Committee Tweeted, “TikTok CEO Shou Chew claims TikTok “proactively removes” all “harmful content.” Clearly, that is FALSE. Joe Biden has often been on record saying political violence is unacceptable. However, it is unknown if the Biden Department of Justice will be filing charges against anyone within the Chinese Communist Party-owned TikTok’s company structure.
Congressman Bob Latta (R-OH) asked the Tiktok CEO during Thursday’s hearings, “Does ByteDance [TikTok’s software company] currently have access to U.S. Tiktok users data?” The Tiktok CEO replied to Rep. Latta’s question with, ” After project Texas is done, no.”

Rep. Neal Dunn (R-FL) asked the Tiktok CEO “Has ByteDance spied on American citizens?” The Tiktok CEO answerd that question with “I don’t think that spying is the right way to describe it.”

Democrats in Congress have criticized Republican efforts to ban the app. Democrat Rep. Jamaal Bowman said on Wednesday: “Republicans ain’t got no swag. That’s why they want to ban TikTok.”

Earlier this month, The U.S. House Foreign Affairs Committee voted on party lines, to advance a bill that bans Tiktok. House Republican Leadership is expected to bring the bill to the floor soon. There is also a bill making its way through the U.S. Senate that bans Tiktok.
