A lawsuit, challenging Governor Ralph “Blackface” Northam’s executive order banning guns from the Virginia Capitol, has been filed, an official from the office of the Virginia Attorney General revealed.
According to WTKR, a hearing was scheduled for 1:30 p.m., on Thursday afternoon in the Richmond Circuit Court.
The lawsuit comes as a response to Gov. Northam declaring a state of emergency on Tuesday night over alleged threats from militia groups planning to form a gun rights rally on Monday.
Gov. Northam’s emergency order declared the banning of all kinds of weapons on the Capitol’s grounds, including firearms, from Friday in order to prevent any potential violence ahead of the rally.
No further details concerning to lawsuit have been released at present.
According to a statement from Gun Owners of America:
Gun Owners of America and the Virginia Citizens Defense League (VCDL) are filing an Emergency Injunction against the governor’s actions.
His action infringes on both the First and Second Amendment rights of Virginian’s who wish to peaceably assemble to petition their government, while at the same time not surrendering their right to self-defense.
This rally is held annually with thousands of participants and without incident. The only difference this year is that, in response to the Democrats’ attempt to eviscerate the Second Amendment, a much larger crowd is expected.
The emergency order to ban firearms has caused widespread controversy.
West Virginia even planned to accept Virginian counties planning to secede from the state over gun rights.
Referring to an incident from 2017 which Gov. Northam alluded to in order to strengthen his case for an emergency ban, GOA stated:
Incredibly, Northam is using the 2017 rally in Charlottesville, Virginia, in support of his ban on firearms, ignoring the fact that the unfortunate death that day was a vehicular homicide.
Northam hasn’t made any attempt to ban cars.
Like all gun control, this gun ban could have only negative consequences. If there are, in fact, any bad actors who would attempt to hijack the rally, they would simply ignore the law.
Over the next 24 hours, GOA and VCDL lawyers will be in court fighting the ban.

The Virginia Citizens Defense League, Inc. is exploring legal remedies to stop Virginia Gov. Ralph Northam’s emergency ban of firearms from the State Capitol grounds in advance of a massive pro-gun rally happening Monday.
VCDL explains that they have held rallies on the Capitol grounds since 2002, and this rally will be no different except for a larger attendance due to the newly elected Democrats in the state legislature’s promise to introduce gun control legislation.
“I’m sure that everyone has now heard that Governor Northam has declared a state of emergency and banned the carrying & possession of weapons on Capitol Square,” wrote VCDL.
Northam’s apparent racism was exposed last year by National File Senior Reporter Patrick Howley, who uncovered yearbook photos of Northam wearing either blackface or Ku Klux Klan robes.
