The Waco, Texas Police Department reported a shooting at the Eastgate Apartments at 1912 South Fifth Street, telling residents to “stay away from the area and shelter in place.”
The campus has been thrown into a panic after the Baylor University Twitter account released an active shooter warning around 6 p.m. Eastern time.

The Waco Police Department reported a shooting at the Eastgate Apartments, located at 1912 South Fifth Street.
According to the alert, students were urged to seek shelter immediately, and stay away from doors and windows.
Baylor has lifted the shelter in place for students after receiving an all clear from Waco PD.
Police told 25 News at the scene they are following a blood trail in the area.
According to Baylor, witnesses observed suspects fleeing the area away from campus. Waco PD and Baylor PD are still patrolling the area.
