Ginsburg has suffered several medical scares in recent years, ranging from a fall to lung cancer, but has maintained her role on the Supreme Court throughout her illnesses.
Ginsburg, who will turn 88 in 2021, is one of the oldest Supreme Court Justices in the history of the United States, second only to Justice Oliver Wendell Holmes, Jr., who served from 1900-1932 and was 90 years old when he retired.
