Disgraced former television host Chris Cuomo has officially been fired from CNN after previously being suspended from the network. It was previously revealed that he allegedly helped his brother, the former Governor of New York Andrew Cuomo, defend himself from allegations that he acted inappropriately toward women.
In a statement, CNN wrote that “Chris Cuomo was suspended earlier this week pending further evaulation of new information that came to light about his involvement in his brother’s defense.”
The network added that it “retained a respected law firm to conduct the review” and have now “terminated” Cuomo “effective immediately.
CNN also informed the public that, because “additional information has come to light,” the network “will investigate as appropriate” despite the “termination.”

Cuomo was previously suspended from the network pending further review, as National File reported at the time:
Left-wing media corporation CNN has suspended host Chris Cuomo indefinitely and pending “further evaluation” following reports from the New York Attorney General’s office that indicate Cuomo allegedly sought out information on the people accusing his brother Andrew – then-governor of New York – of sexual harassment.
“The New York Attorney General’s Office released transcripts and exhibits Monday that shed new light on Chris Cuomo’s involvement in his brother’s defense,” CNN said in a statement. “The documents, which we were not privy to before their public release, raise serious questions.”
“When Chris admitted to us that he had offered advice to his brother’s staff, he broke our rules and we acknowledged that publicly. But we also appreciated the unique position he was in and understood his need to put family first and job second. however, these documents point to a greater level of involvement in his brother’s efforts than we previously knew. As a result, we have suspended Chris indefinitely, pending further evaluation.”

Cuomo was questioned by Fox News about his brother’s resignation earlier this year. At the time, Cuomo appeared indignant, and refused to answer the reporter’s questions.
“Have you spoken to your brother today, sir,” the Fox News reporter questioned. “Did you advise him to step down? Are you continuing to advise him? Do you think that’s an ethical conflict?” In response, Cuomo finally said, “I think you’ve got a job to do and I’m letting you do it.”
The reporter asked Cuomo, Is your brother coming to East Hampton?” Cuomo sarcastically responded, “Yes, if you wait here he’ll be here in five minutes.” It is unclear what year of Ford F150 Cuomo was spotted driving. However, if the cable news host was driving a 2021 model, the MSRP starts at $29,290, and the vehicle receives roughly 25 miles per gallon in New York City.
New York Attorney General Letitia James claims Andrew Cuomo broke the law by molesting and sexually harassing women.
Their findings resulted in Cuomo’s resignation from the governorship earlier this year.
