The Department of Homeland Security issued a National Terrorism Advisory System (NTAS) Bulletin warning on January 27 that called for a continuation of military occupation around government buildings and and urged Americans to report “suspicious” online activity to law enforcement.
This comes as the Army confirmed reports that thousands of troops will remain in Washington until mid-March.
“DHS encourages state, local, tribal, and territorial homeland security partners to continue prioritizing physical security measures, particularly around government facilities, to protect people and critical infrastructure.”
The NTAS Bulletin warning alleges a “heightened threat environment” across the nation, which the DHS believes “will persist” for weeks following the mostly crowdless inauguration of Joe Biden, who was sworn in surrounded by 25 thousand National Guard troops.
“Information suggests that some ideologically-motivated violent extremists with objections to the exercise of governmental authority and the presidential transition, as well as other perceived grievances fueled by false narratives, could continue to mobilize to incite or commit violence.”
DHS is asking Americans to “report suspicious activity and threats of violence, including online activity,” to the government.
Furthermore, Americans can be “prepared” for this threat by avoiding large crowds and wearing masks, according to DHS.

Some officials, such as Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, have pulled National Guard troops out of DC after videos and reports revealed that they had been ordered to sleep on the floors of parking garages following the inauguration of Joe Biden, as National File reported.
