Two women who assaulted a family and stole a MAGA hat from a seven-year-old boy last summer have pleaded guilty to multiple charges. Olivia Winslow and Camryn Amy pleaded guilty to charges of theft, child endangerment and hate crimes stemming from the attack. Charges of assault, attempted assault and conspiracy were dropped as part of a plea deal, according to The Delaware News Journal.
The attack took place on August 20, 2020 in Wilmington, Delaware, not far from where Joe Biden was giving his acceptance speech at the Democratic National Convention. A video of the incident was uploaded by the Students for Trump Twitter account and was viewed more than 5 million times. The video shows the two women confronting a family who had just left a peaceful counter protest and were waiting for a table outside a restaurant. Winslow and Amy can be seen ripping up pro-Trump signs while cursing at the family. “Are you destroying my property?” a woman can be heard asking as the pair tore up signs.
The two women can then be seen running up and stealing a MAGA hat as a child pleads for it back. “That’s someone else’s hat!” the 7-year-old boy can be heard shouting. “You’re mom f****n likes Trump,” one of the attackers replied. She then tosses the hat over a fence into a construction site where the family can’t retrieve it.
Outside the DNC Convention tonight, radical leftists attacked a 7 year old boy.
Why?
Because he was simply showing his support for President @realDonaldTrump.
Truly shameful.https://t.co/rBFzlg2WFu

One woman later claimed that she was punched multiple times during the altercation. Winslow and Amy can be seen assaulting at least one person in the video, as one of the attackers punches a man who was trying to retrieve the hat. The two were arrested not long after the incident. They are due back in court for sentencing in September, though prosecutors noted that they were not seeking prison time.
