Bellingcat and The New York Times bragged on Thursday how they helped the Biden FBI catch accused Pentagon whistleblower Jack Teixeira. Aric Toler, who is one of the top researchers at Bellingcat, bragged on his Twitter account on Thursday that he helped the NYT and FBI catch Teixeria. An Article from 2021 where Toler talks about his dream of joining the CIA came to light Thursday night.
In a series of tweets, Aric Toler bragged on his Twitter account that he helped arrest Jack Teixeira writing, “Another piece I helped with on the NYT, with some more detail on the whole saga.”
And

Toler also revealed he found Teixeira via Steam, writing, “(Found him through his Steam profile, will write a step-by-step on the process at some point).”

Following Teixeria’s arrest, an article resurfaced from 2021 where Toler said, “I did my best to be invited for an interview with the CIA, but no one was interested in me.”

Donald Trump Jr raised the point that if Teixeria leaked Trump Administration information, the FBI and media would likely view him as a hero, writing, “Imagine the level of hero Jack Teixeira would be to the media & to the left if he leaked that the Trump Administration was waging an unlawful war against a nuclear super-power without the knowledge of the people or the approval of Congress? He’d make Superman look like a bitch!

Glenn Greenwald, who helped Edward Snowden break his story, echoed Trump JR, writing, “If this leaker had published these documents under Trump, to show the Trump WH was lying about the US role in a major war, there’s be a bust of him already unveiled outside NBC News’s studios, a star turn on Colbert, and a ceremony where Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer hug him.”

Teixeria appeared in court on Friday and is scheduled to enter a plea of guilt or incents next week.
