Far-left actor and anti-gun zealot Alec Baldwin shot and killed the cinematographer, and wounded the director, of his new movie “Rust” during what early reports indicate to have been a bizarre incident involving a prop gun. Authorities are investigating the situation.
The fatal shooting took place in Santa Fe County, New Mexico, where Baldwin and the victims were filming portions of a new Western-themed movie titled “Rust.” Baldwin is both producing the film and appearing in it as an actor and has admitted responsibility for the incident, according to a spokesperson who claims it was the result of “the misfire of a prop gun with blanks.”
It is also unclear at this point whether or not the shooting took place during filming or just on-set.
A news release from the Santa Fe County, New Mexico Sheriff’s Office described officers being dispatched to the scene after receiving a call about a “shooting on the set” and finding both 42-year-old cinematographer Halyna Hutchins and 48-year-old director Joel Souza suffering from wounds after they “were shot when a prop firearm was discharged by Alec Baldwin.”
Both were transported to local hospitals and Hutchins, who was transported by helicopter, was later pronounced dead at the hospital. Souza is currently undergoing treatment for his injuries, the statement says.
Alec Baldwin has a long history of personal and professional issues that have plagued his life, making headlines for temper tantrums and anger issues many times over the years.
A longtime leftist, Baldwin plays the far-left caricature of 45th President Donald J. Trump on Saturday Night Live, often spreading disinformation about Trump and the United States. Despite regularly using firearms in the movies that have netted him millions of dollars, as a leftist, he has spent much time working to limit the 2nd Amendment rights of American citizens, even spearheading campaigns against gun owners.
Some on Twitter were quick to point out Baldwin’s anti-gun politics and wondered if ignorant and irresponsible firearm handling led to the tragic, on-set shooting incident.
Responsible gun owners treat every gun as if it’s loaded no matter the situation. His anti gun stance caused this.

Ironically, Baldwin, who has been a frequent critic of law enforcement and an ally of the far-left Black Lives Matter movement, once pondered over Twitter how it must “feel to wrongfully kill someone,” highlighting a California police shooting.
The situation remains under police investigation.
