In 2018 then-House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy killed legislation that would have blocked CCP companies from contracting out with United States transit systems. BYD Motors, a CCP-owned company that makes electric buses, is located in Speaker McCarthy’s district. McCarthy is on record supporting the company and taking donations from BYD employees.
H. R. 6072 would have stripped the ability of any United States city or town receiving federal transportation dollars from contracting their public transportation services out to CCP companies like BYD Motors. McCarthy was willing to go as far as to shut down the government to ensure this provision was stripped out of H.R. 6072.
It should come as no surprise McCarthy was willing to shut down the government for the CCP as McCarthy has a history of supporting CCP-tied BYD Motors.
McCarthy attended BYD Motors’ grand opening and said, “As BYD continues to develop cutting-edge technology that helps transform the transportation industry here in the Antelope Valley and around the country, this investment will help create jobs in our community, keep Lancaster on the forefront of technological advancement, and put emission-free vehicles on our streets. I would also like to recognize Lancaster Mayor Rex Parris for his hard work and dedication to making our community a place where companies like BYD can grow and thrive.”
More concerning is that a year prior to killing the bill, McCarthy received thousands of dollars of donations from a BYD Motors employee by the name of Li Ke Stella. It’s also interesting to point out that at around the same time, Miss Li gave political donations to The Great America Committee, a PAC that was at the time associated with Mike Pence.

McCarthy was proud of his work of advancing the CCP-owned BYD Motors. When asked about his efforts to kill the bill in 2018, McCarthy’s office released a statement reading, “McCarthy is proud to support job creation for his constituents and community.”

Currently, McCarthy faces the real possibility of losing his speakership if he does not impeach Biden, release the J6 tapes, and defund the Trump witch hunts.
McCarthy’s close ties with the CCP will make any effort to vacate the chair a much easier process.
