Republican Senator-elect Tommy Tuberville from Alabama indicated this week that he would work to challenge the electoral challenge in the Senate, becoming the first senator to agree with Rep. Mo Brooks’ (R-AL) push to challenge the election when Congress convenes to certify the vote on Jan. 6.
In a video edited together by a left-wing activist on Twitter, Tuberville said “They’re going to steal it” in reference to the Senate runoff election in Georgia. He also showed support for President Donald Trump’s claims of a rigged election, noting “It’s impossible, it’s impossible what happened” in reference to Joe Biden’s purported victory.
“We’re going to get that all corrected,” Tuberville promised. “Don’t give up on [Trump].”
When asked to elaborate later on what “tricks up your sleeve” Senate Republicans may have to help with contesting the election, Tuberville stated, “Well, you see what’s coming. You’ve been reading about it in the House, we’re going to have to do it in the Senate.”
“We’re going to fight hard,” Tuberville promised.

The Senator-elect’s remarks were praised by Stop The Steal organizer Ali Alexander, who congratulated Tuberville in a Periscope livestream.

Senate Republicans have faced increasing pressure from the party base to join Rep. Brooks’ pledge to contest the election.
On Thursday, Rush Limbaugh Show executive producer James “Bo Snerdley” Golden noted, “So far not ONE Republican Senator has said she or he will step up and object to the election fraud. Not ONE. Members of the House are unafraid – more than one have said they will object in the House. We need just ONE in the Senate.”

President Trump endorsed Tuberville over former Attorney General Jeff Sessions in the Alabama Senate runoff race in 2020.
Tuberville’s promise to fight for President Trump is a bold maneuver that rejects Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell’s assertion that “As of this morning, our country has officially a president-elect, and a vice-president elect.”
McConnell has already extended congratulations of victory to Vice President Joe Biden and Senator Kamala Harris.
